The Events Team is looking forward to an inspiring presentation by a representative from Habitat, who will give members an insight into their work here in Korea.  Habitat is a non-profit organization which seeks to eliminate poverty and homelessness from the world by building decent and affordable shelters for families in need.

Although many of you may be familiar with the work of Habitat (formerly Habitat for Humanity) in poorer countries, you may be surprised to know they are also working here in Korea.

HFH Korea, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, will build around 80 houses across Korea during 2010.  In this session they will explain how interested BASS members and families can get involved by volunteering their labour to help build one of these homes.

This will be a short presentation (about 30 minutes) aimed at those of you returning after summer and who might consider giving time and energy to do something that will transform the lives of a poor Korean family.
