On this tour we will visit the special exhibit "The City in Art, Art in the City" at the National Museum of Korea.

Using beautiful paintings, rare ceramics, and original woodblock prints, the exhibition examines the cultural development of Hanyang (the former name of Seoul) from the 18th century to the 1930s. This time period is often considered the renaissance of Korea’s Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) with great developments in art, science and commerce and people living in relative prosperity and peace. Through beautiful pieces such as "Literati Gathering of the Middle People" by Yu Suk (thumbnail image above), the exhibit offers a glimpse into the lives of Seoulites as the city entered the early modern era.

We will be enjoying a guided tour of the exhibit.

We will be meeting at Ichon Station (Line 4 & Gyeongui-Jungang Line), Exit 2) before heading to the museum together.
