Hanji is the traditional handmade paper made from the bark of the Mulberry tree. Koreans traditionally used it (and still do) for calligraphy, to cover walls, windows and even floors. It was also used on objects, lamps and furniture around the home. From the moment you enter Sabu’s studio you will discover her art and her beautiful Hanji items and pieces of furniture.

Sabu loves sharing her passion for Hanji and is delighted to tell you about the history of Hanji in Korea and show you how it is done.
