Fundraising

Fundraising and charity work are major components of the BASS charter.
Thanks to the generosity of our members, the local business community and our Korean hosts, BASS is able to contribute to a number of Korean charities each year.
In 2009, BASS raised and donated over 127 million KRW.
Our major fundraiser each year is the Queen’s Birthday Ball. This glamorous fundraiser is the perfect night for the international community to get together and give back to our host country of South Korea.
In 2009, the Ballroom at the Grand Hyatt was transformed into The Great British Seaside. Please visit the photo gallery, The Queen’s Birthday Ball 2009, to relive this fantastic event.
In 2010, the Ballroom was transformed into the HMS Queen Elizabeth. Some photos from this elegant event can be found in The Queen's Birthday Ball 2010 photo gallery.
We recognise and give thanks to all of our sponsors who help make this fundraising event possible.
BASS also runs smaller fundraising events throughout the year.
Donated funds, as well as Membership fees, are distributed to welfare projects and charitable organisations around Korea.
Our Welfare Committee receives numerous requests for help each year. The Committee carefully considers each request and decides on the allocation of funds by visiting the charities to assess their needs.
