The main aim of John’s Village, Arcaffe Project, Kwangju, is to provide vocational training to psychiatric patients.

In the Arcaffe Project, once a patient’s treatment is completed, they are trained as baristas i.e. service staff in coffee shops. The training enables patients to find jobs, earn their own living and return to a normal life. Each patient is trained and works in Arcaffe for one year before becoming independent.

The Arcaffe project is supervised by Brother John. Brother John also runs the St John’s General Hospital, Hospice and Psychiatry Hospital in Kwangju. He is involved in the Evergreen Project in Gimpo, and a Welfare Centre for the Elderly.
