For several years, BASS has supported a programme of extra-curricular English lessons for 24 children from single-parent, low-income families in Seoul. These children come to Woorinuri every night after school, do their homework, have dinner and are cared for in a safe and secure environment until their parent returns from work.

In 2011, for one year only, one of our coprorate sponsors also financed a programme of extra Korean writing and comprehension tuition for these children.

Over several years it has been a pleasure to observe these children increase in confidence in their use of English, a skill we hope will benefit them in future.
