I’m Jay and I’ve been living in South Korea since August 2024.   I live just south of Seoul in Suwon with my husband.  Before we moved here we lived in California for 3 years.  Whilst in California I volunteered with various organisations, joined a hiking group, and enjoyed meeting new people and travelling. 

I have a management and HR background and was Practice Manager in GP surgeries (medical centres) in the UK for the 10 years prior to moving abroad.  My family all live in the UK and I have 2 children who live and work there, so  I understand how it feels to find yourself in a new place and to leave family behind. 

I was very pleased to have found BASS so soon after arriving in South Korea; finding BASS really helped me to find my feet in a country so different to any I had lived in before.  I've been BASS President since January 2025 and enjoy learning Korean, cycling, walking, hiking, and relaxing over coffee.  My aim is to ensure BASS is a friendly, welcoming and supportive group for all expats and anyone with experience of living abroad for an extended period of time.

Hi, I’m Hannah. My family and I moved to Seoul from Sydney in January 2024 with our two daughters. We’ve really enjoyed settling into life here, exploring the city and meeting new people.

Before moving to Seoul, I worked in business operations and financial services in Sydney, and I now work in the steel trading industry.  This isn't my first time living in Seoul, as I previously studied at Korea University while completing my Bachelor’s degree at the University of New South Wales in Sydney.

In my spare time I enjoy yoga, pilates, cycling, badminton and skiing. I’m really happy to be part of the BASS Committee and look forward to meeting more people and being involved in the community.

Hi everyone! I’m DiNara. I was born in Uzbekistan but spent most of my life in the U.S., living across various states and countries over the years. In June 2024, my family and I moved to South Korea as part of my husband’s expat assignment, so I’m currently enjoying a well-deserved "extended vacation" here.
My background is in education, but I’ve also worked in real estate within Walmart INC. Moving around and working across different industries showed me how vital it is to foster strong relationships and build a supportive community wherever you land.
I’m a mom of four, with three of my teenagers here in Korea with us. Between managing a busy household and being an active mom cheering on my kids in volleyball, tennis, and WEX, life is always moving! Whenever I catch a free moment, I love staying active myself through hiking, biking, playing badminton and skiing, or slowing down with a good knitting project.
I'm now in my second year as a BASS member and love being part of this group! I’m really looking forward to connecting, sharing experiences, and helping build a warm and supportive home away from home for all of us.
