About the event
This is “Visit Traditional Korean Markets Month,” so let’s go! Bangsan Market is known as bakers alley and is your go-to for all things related to baking and cooking. Here you will find items that you might not be able to find in the grocery stores. Gwangjang Market is one of the oldest and largest traditional markets with stalls selling silk goods, linen bedding and other handmade goods. It also has a few vintage clothing shops. At the center of this huge market are several food stalls selling popular food such as Bindaetteok (mung bean pancakes), Boribap (Rice and barley with vegetables) Eomukguk (Fish Cake Soup), Kimbap, (bite-size dried seaweed rolls and a must for any hiking excursion), Kalguksu (Korean knife-cut noodle soup) and Tteokbokki (Spicy Rice Cakes). You can pull up a stool and feast on a meal for as little as KW5,000. We will finish at a Russian Cake Shop selling delicious layered honey cakes, Napoleon cakes and many more. Come hungry! Tour ends at Dongdaemun Station or Dongdaemun Design Plaza Station.
