About the event
The Gyeongui Line Forest Park represents Seoul's dedication to repurposing old infrastructure into sustainable and leisure spaces for both residents and tourists. Initially, it served as an operational railway connecting Seoul to Sinuiju in North Korea. The railway operated from the early 20th century until the Korean War, after which it was abandoned due to the conflict. For many years, the railway lay dormant until the early 2000s when a revitalization project began, transforming the disused tracks into a peaceful park. Once again, it stands as a prime example of rejuvenation, boasting a rich history.
Let's gather to walk the "line," and discover the lively neighborhoods along the way! Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes. Gongdeok Station is where two or more train lines intersect – Line 6 or Line 5 are the most convenient choices. Erika, a BASS member, will be guiding this stroll. Thank you, Erika!
