Join us to discuss Mickey7, a Sci-fi novel by Edward Ashton. This book is available in English from Coupand and many other book sellers.
We will meet for lunch at Lazzat Uzbek restaurant in Itaewon. The menu includes grilled meats like lamb , chicken, soup, salad, rice.
This book was recently adapted into a movie, Mickey 17 directed by Bong Joon-ho. We hope to go see the movie together in the next week or tek following the book club discussion, if still available in theatres.
Space colonist Mickey Barnes, a.k.a. Mickey7, tries to survive in a beachhead colony on an alien world. The job he reluctantly signed up for is to be "expendable", undertaking all of the most dangerous tasks necessary for a mission to colonize the ice world Niflheim. When one Mickey dies, another is cloned in his place with most of his memories intact, but at significant cost…
