About the event
Gyeongdong Market is the biggest Korean medicine market and one of the well-known traditional markets in Seoul. It sells a lot of fresh and cheap agricultural and marine products while preserving the atmosphere of the country market in the past.
You can buy your fresh fruit and veg, local honey, and try some interesting Korean delicacies here.
Once we have walked a few of the rows of stalls and bought any shopping, we will visit Aunty Omakase’s restaurant (located in the basement of the market) where we can enjoy her famous kalgugsu noodles, bibimbap and cabbage jeon. We need to wait in line here - and will head down at 11 - be prepared to wait as it is very popular!
After we have eaten, if time permits we will head upstairs to Gyeongdong Theatre, an abandoned theatre located inside the market, which is now a very unusual Starbucks.
