About the event
Seochon literally translates to West Village as it is located in the west of the historic center of Seoul, west of Gyeongbokgung Palace. The most famous Korean historic figure that was born in Seochon is King Sejong. He is the most known Korean Joseon king as he created the Korean alphabet. There is a large statute of him on the big square in front of Gyeongbokgung Palace. Seochon hanok village is now home to many small galleries, coffee shops and boutiques. We will wander the alleyways and make our way to the fabulous British, Scoff Bakery. Bring a take-away bag! Then we will head to Tongin Market, established in 194, and famous today for its lunch box cafe. In 2011, the market started using a special coin paying system which allows visitors to try different types of Korean dishes at a very low price. On the second floor there is place to sit and eat your lunch. For anyone interested, we can eat lunch at the market or in one of the neighborhood cafes/restaurants.
