About the event
Gyeongui Line Forest Park symbolizes Seoul's commitment to transforming old infrastructure into sustainable and recreational spaces for its residents and visitors. Originally, it was a functioning railway line connecting Seoul to the North Korean city of Sinuiju. Trains ran along this route from the early 20th century until the Korean War, when it was severed due to the conflict. The rail line remained disused for decades until the early 2000s when a transformative initiative began, converting the old railway tracks into a serene park. Again, it is a shining example of transformation and includes a rich history . We will meet and walk the "line" and eat and explore the vibrant neighborhoods aling the path! Wear good walking shoes. There are two (or more) train lines at cross at Gongdeok Station. Line 6 or Line 5 are your best options. Erika, a BASS member, will lead this walkie. Thanks Erika!
