Walkie - Seodaemum Prison and Independence Park

Opened in 1908 Seodaemum Prison was used to incarcerate independence activist until the liberation of Korea in 1945. Closed in 1987 it was restored and reopened in 1998. Today it is a museum and memorial that honours those who suffered and died in the prison.

About the event
It is beautifully restored site with a number of original buildings preserved and providing various exhibitions on the heroes and important times of the struggle for independence and democracy. If time permits, we can also explore the other areas of Independence Park including Dongnipgwan (Independance Hall) originally used to greet Chinese Envoys during the Joseon dynasty.
