About the event
Meet 10:00am at Dobongsan Station(Line 1) Exit 1.1
Finish 1:00-1:30pm at Bukhansan Ui Station, Ul-Sinseol. Bukhansan Ui Station is a station on the Ui LRT located in Ui-dong, Gangbuk-gu, Seoul.
ROUTE GRADING: 2 (Grade 1=easy, grade 4=very difficult)
This is where the Seoul Trail becomes the Bukhansan Trail but there are still lots of Seoul Trail stamps to collect along the way. This is a very pleasant walk, mostly in the woods, starting off past all the hiking gear shops at the beginning of the entrance to Bukhansan National Park, then crossing a stream before coming to the Dobongsa Temple decorated with lanterns. This walk along the side of Dobongsan mountain is very varied passing through small villages, ancient temples, the Ssangdungi Observatory with views over Seoul and the Cemetery for Princess Jeongui. Much of the trail overlaps with the Bukhansan Dulegil.
Hiking shoes and sticks are recommended as parts of the trail are gravelly and with pine needles. Bring plenty of water as it is getting hot again and snacks as we will make rest stops along the way. Please be on time as some people have to pick up children from school. Allow extra time if you are coming by Line 1 as you may have to get off the train and onto another one. If line 4 is convenient for you, you can take it to Chang-dong and transfer to Line 1 for the last three stops. Dobongsan (not Dobong)
