BASS has arranged an Kimchi master class at the Museum Kimchikan of Seoul! This is a great way to connect with the food and culture of Korea by learning about the food's history, its many historical and regional varieties and its importance to Korean culture and cuisine.

About the event

Please note: 

  • For the class to proceed, we require a minimum of 15 participants to sign up. Feel free to bring a friend along and  register thwm here as well. Kindly note that the deadline for sign-ups is set for March 12. 
  • Fee is 45.000 won per person, including the exhibition. You can look around the museum after/before the class. Please pay when you visit the museum.
  • You have to take out your kimchi. Kimchi containers are provided but no plastic bags for wrapping kimchi containers. 
  • This program is for adults. Participation from the age of 8 or older is allowed only when they are with  their parents or guardians. Special care and responsibility is required when using a sharp knife to cut vegetables. 
  • Vegetarians, persons with food allergies or those with Halal food requirements are advised to inform the BASS leadership team in advance of the class day. 
  • After 10mins to start the class, you cannot enter the classroom. So please visit the museum before 10~15mins to start the program. PLEASE BE ON TIME. 
  • Hanbok rentals are available. 

"Museum Kimchikan is a unique museum dedicated to kimchi and kimjang, the process of making kimchi which was designated as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The museum was also selected by CNN in March 2015 as one of the world’s top 11 food museums. Visitors can learn the history of kimchi as well as learn and get a taste of the different types of kimchi."
