About the event

We will begin the tour at the Jogyesa Temple which is known as the center of Korean Buddhism.  The Jogyesa Chrysanthemum Festival is currently on, and on display are large dinosaurs made out of greens and flowers, dogs and other creatures made out of chrysanthemums, and other beautiful flower installations and even pink muhly grass.  This centrally located temple is a must-visit any time of year, to catch one of the elaborate displays.

From there we will head into the alleyways of Insadong, lined with traditional restaurants and teahouses, art galleries, clothing and souvenir shops and traditional art shops.  On weekends, it is a pedestrian area and there are often buskers performing on the streets.

From Insadong, we will cut over to Ikseon-dong, with its maze-like streets lined with cafes and boutiques. It is one of the oldest neighborhoods since the village was established during the 1920s. This is a very popular place for young people and its narrow lanes can be quite crowded during the evenings and weekends.

There are numerous café’s to choose from for a rest stop and numerous restaurants if anyone wishes to stay in the area for lunch.
